WHAT IS TRENDCETERA?
Trendcetera Magazine is an online publication that forecasts which global lifestyle trends will make it big in America. We cover beauty (Paints & Potions), wellness (Nutri-Life), travel and leisure (Escapes), technology (Geekdom) and culture (Culture Splash) and update each section once a week. All the content found in these five main sections is original and strictly editorial; no one can pay to be featured. Our News Bites section aggregates global news in five sections: American, international, science, trafficking and retail headlines. Last, we have a twice-weekly feature unique to Trendcetera.com called America’s Faces, which spotlights real U.S. residents with exotic looks we believe challenge traditional beauty norms.

EDITOR & PUBLISHER
Andrea Toochin is the founder, publisher and editor of Trendcetera Magazine. She is a writer and researcher who has worked for companies including Zagat, CondeNet and Institutional Investor. Trendcetera exists to forecast lifestyle trends and educate Americans so they can become smarter shoppers and understand how globalization impacts their lives.

INTERNS
Hailey Persinger is a senior at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. She currently works as news assigning editor for the North Texas Daily and will graduate in May 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in English. Her favorite things are running, reading, writing and looking for a puppy to adopt. She writes Drugs, Arms & Human Trafficking News Bites and does technology research for Trendcetera..

Emily Welby graduated from Fordham University in May 2008, with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in business administration, and now resides in Westchester, NY. Her favorite topics include Marilyn Monroe, the Yankees, Monaco and pirates, and she can often be found cooking, reading, or applying liquid eyeliner. She writes for the Retail and Celebrity Charity News Bites and does beauty research.

Amy Kraft is a 2006 graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was an editor for the school newspaper and founder of the SCIFI writing group. From 2006 – 2008, Amy lived in France where she worked as a writer and translator for various Paris-based publications. She resides in New York City and works as a copy editor at Thomson Reuters. In her spare time she writes science fiction and cultivates a satirical news blog entitled, La Flemme. Amy writes the Science, Health and Recalls News Bites and performs travel and leisure research for Trendcetera.

Valerie Chen graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2007 with a BA in English literature. In addition to studying in Vancouver, she has gone to school in Glasgow, Scotland, and Nanjing, China. She lives in Vancouver, where she has worked as an editor for a Finnish high tech and telecommunications giant. Some of Valerie’s favorite things to do are baking, reading and gardening. Valerie writes International News Bites and does technology research for Trendcetera.
